Empowering VAALA’s #nextgeneration

The Vietnamese American Arts and Letters Association (VAALA) has spent the past 25 years connecting and enriching communities through Vietnamese arts and culture.

In Orange County, VAALA has produced a variety of programs that include art exhibitions, book signings, youth art classes and workshops, and notably, the Children’s Moon Festival and Viet Film Fest, the internationally renowned platform for showcasing Vietnamese voices in film.

Through the commitment and support of our community, VAALA has become the premier platform for artists, filmmakers, and art enthusiasts seeking a place to share, network, and learn about the Vietnamese experience.

More recently, Project Foto, a multimedia arts program for young women, and Youth in Motion, a filmmaking lab creating the #nextgeneration of storytellers, are showing how art is a transformational tool that instills leadership skills, a sense of community, and confidence in its young participants. Our youth programs are addressing serious issues in the community and have proven to be a powerful agent of change.

We believe that the arts are a tool to share stories, to bring people together, and to promote tolerance, understanding, and inclusiveness. We believe that storytelling leads to healing and community-building. We believe that we have a responsibility to teach and lift up the #nextgeneration of VAALA for the next 25 years.

Please help us reach our $10,000 goal by Closing Night of Viet Film Fest on October 14!
