🤝 Meet the Curatorial Committee: Vinh Phu Pham💡 The Curatorial Committee have been hard at work watching and reviewing this year’s submissions, bringing their expertise, passion, and thoughtful perspective to the selection process. We’re grateful for the time and care they’ve put into helping shape this year’s Viet Film Fest lineup.🎬 The films selected for this year’s festival will be announced soon! Follow us and stay tuned for the big reveal.🎞 Vinh Phu Pham is a cultural critic and interdisciplinary scholar whose work engages the Vietnamese diaspora through contemporary art, film, music, and the cultural legacies of the Republic of Vietnam. His research bridges transnational literary histories, visual culture, and the politics of cultural production across Southeast Asia and its diasporas. His writing has appeared in The Journal of Vietnamese Studies (JVS), Artforum, Hyperallergic, BBC Vietnam, Rising Asia Journal, Of Peninsulas and Archipelagos, and Diasporic Vietnamese Artist Network (DVAN), among other venues. His article “Paris by Night and the Making of Vietnamese American Music” examines the role of diasporic media in shaping Vietnamese cultural identity overseas. He is also a contributor to the edited volume Republican Vietnam, 1963–1975: War, Society, Diaspora. Formerly the English editor of the US–Vietnam Review, Vinh has taught at Cornell University and Fulbright University Vietnam, and currently serves as Assistant Professor of World Literature at Bard High School Early College (Queens) in New York City.🍊 Don’t forget to follow us Viet Film Fest for upcoming festival updates!#VietFilmFest2026 #FilmFestival #AAPI #Film #Vietnamese ... 🤝 Meet the Curatorial Committee: Julian Doan💡 The Curatorial Committee have been hard at work watching and reviewing this year’s submissions, bringing their expertise, passion, and thoughtful perspective to the selection process. We’re grateful for the time and care they’ve put into helping shape this year’s Viet Film Fest lineup.🎬 The films selected for this year’s festival will be announced soon! Follow us and stay tuned for the big reveal.🎞 Julian Doan is a writer/director preoccupied with the mundane, ironic, and absurd. His short films RASPBERRY (Sundance 2021) and LONG’S LONG LOST & MINI MART (Tribeca 2025), are the first 2 of his “dead dad trilogy”, to be completed with his 1st feature HALF SWEET (Gotham Project Market 2021) - a Tati-esque satirical tragicomedy about a family keeping a dying father alive against his will. Together, these films all explore the commodification of grief. He’s also an editor and assistant editor with credits such as THE SYMPATHIZER, IN TREATMENT, MAINSTREAM, and WILD WILD COUNTRY. He’s a recently converted cat daddy.🍊 Don’t forget to follow us Viet Film Fest for upcoming festival updates!#VietFilmFest2026 #FilmFestival #AAPI #Film #Vietnamese ... See MoreSee Less
