Viet Film Fest (formerly Vietnamese International Film Festival – ViFF) is now calling for submissions. Entry form may be filled out online at www.VietFilmFest.com. The submission deadline is December 1, 2013.
Viet Film Fest will take place from April 10-13, 2014 at UltraLuxe Cinemas at the Anaheim GardenWalk in Anaheim, California. PRODUCTIONS ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION: Feature-length and short productions of any content (not necessarily related to Vietnam or Vietnamese) by persons of Vietnamese descent living anywhere around the world or productions by anyone about Vietnamese people or culture in the following categories: ● Narrative ● Documentary ● Experimental ● Animation Films must have English subtitles if they are not in the English language. NO ENTRY FEE. ENTRY DEADLINE: Entries MUST BE UPLOADED ONLINE or POSTMARKED no later than December 1, 2013. We will announce final selections by early March 2014. Rough cuts are acceptable with final film versions shown in April 2014. Since 2003, Viet Film Fest has been widely known as the largest Vietnamese film festival outside of Vietnam. In the past decade, the festival has attracted thousands of national and international attendees and showcased hundreds of shorts and features that have been submitted from many corners of the world, including the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Poland, United Kingdom, Norway, Cambodia and Vietnam. Through the universal language of film, Viet Film Fest continues to celebrate the diversity of our communities by bringing together a multiplicity of perspectives and voices. Committed to expanding the horizons of Vietnamese cinema, Viet Film Fest provides a nurturing environment for its artists to engage in a broadening dialogue with an international community. As a result, it has become a unique and important platform for filmmakers of Vietnamese descent globally. Going beyond Vietnam, Viet Film Fest also serves as an important educational tool for learning about the historical and contemporary experiences of Vietnamese in the United States and other countries around the world. As it has done every year, Viet Film Fest will present the Grand-Jury Trống Đồng Awards for Best Feature Film and Best Short Film, Best Cinematography, Best Actor and Best Actress. Audience members will also have a chance to vote for the Audience Choice Award for feature and short films. All awards will be announced at the Closing Night of the film festival. |
