Lisa Nguyen

Lisa Nguyen began her career studying film and communications at the University of California, Berkeley, and being an assistant in various film festivals, including the 57th annual Cannes Film Festival. She now works as a Program Coordinator at the educational television channel LA36, a channel that has garnered various awards including the Los Angeles Emmys. Her experience working for LA36 and with the Los Angeles community is what inspired her decision to become a producer, discovering her drive to be collaborating with other innovative and dedicated individuals to tell stories through visual art. In 2007, she co-produced Long-Cuu Phan’s 16mm film This Will All Make Perfect Sense Someday, an official selection of the 2008 Hawaii International Film Festival. In 2008 she wrote, produced, and directed the short-film Not in My Backyard, which received critical and audience acclaim at the 2008 Los Angeles Asian American Pacific Film Festival, and is currently touring the film festival circuit. Lisa is currently producing her first feature film MEANDhER, which will be touring the film festival circuit in 2009.
