Guess what, ViFF is only 2 weeks away! We’re in need of volunteers to make ViFF successful. ViFF is holding a volunteer orientation this coming Sunday 3/22/09 11 A.M. at VAALA studio.

We will go over the volunteer tasks and the shifts. We’ll also work on the badges and gift bags.

- ViFF '07 volunteers @ opening night
ViFF needs volunteers for various committees such as Public Relations, Gala, Guest Relations, Translation, and Operations. If you’d like to support the arts in the community, build personal and professional networks, fulfill extracurricular activity requirements, or simply make new friends, please join us!
Public Relations: write film reviews, press releases and interview filmmakers. You will go on TV/radio shows to talk about ViFF as well as make presentations about ViFF to different community or student-based groups.
Gala: help coordinate the Opening and Closing Galas, and the Awards Ceremony. Opening Night will take place at Edwards Universtiy Cinema 6, Irvine. Closing Night and the Awards Ceremony will be held at UCI.
Guest Relations: coordinate the itinerary for the filmmakers from out of town, make information folders for all filmmakers, and prepare goodies bags for ViFF’s special guests.
Translations: translate articles for the media, web, and festival catalog. If you are comfortable in front of an audience, there is also opportunity to be a translator at the film screenings. We need both Vietnamese-to-English and English-to-Vietnamese translators.
Operations: usher people into their seats, distribute surveys, sell tickets and merchandise such as T-shirts and DVD’s.

The Fourth Edition of the biennial Vietnamese International Film Festival (ViFF)
Call for entry is now closed. Decisions for films submitted will be made by early March.
Coming to University of California, Irvine (UCI), University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and Westminster, Southern California in April 2009
Productions Eligible for Consideration:
Feature-length and short productions of any content (not necessarily related to Vietnam or Vietnamese) by persons of Vietnamese descent living anywhere around the world or productions about Vietnamese people or culture in the following categories:
